Spahic given all clear

Emir Spahic has been given the all clear by doctors to play with Bosnia during this week’s international break, after the weekend’s head injury.

The defender was stretchered off midway through the second half of Sevilla’s 0-0 draw at Rayo Vallecano, after colliding with teammate Alberto Botia.

The 32-year-old caused concern, as the blow sustained was just underneath his right eye, but as the team doctor reassured soon after, he was very quickly back on his feet and fully recovered.

A further assessment today from medical staff from the club and his international team has confirmed this, with the player now given the all clear to represent Bosnia in their upcoming fixtures this week and next.

Spahic, who has been with Sevilla since July 2011, has been capped 53 times by his country.
