Albelda: Cristiano unhappy? So am I

Valencia midfielder David Albelda claimed he too was unhappy when questioned about Cristiano Ronaldo’s alleged spat with Real Madrid.

Albelda appeared in the mixed zone after seeing his team go down to a first-half Adriano wonder strike at the Camp Nou against Barcelona, and replied with the words ‘so am I’ after being asked his verdict on Ronaldo’s claim he is upset with some people at Madrid.

“Everyone in the world is different and I don’t want to comment on other players,” added the Valencia captain.

Even so, despite the defeat Spanish international Albelda is pleased with how his side has started the season under new Coach Mauricio Pellegrino, although he acknowledged it is always difficult to win at Barcelona.

“The team has been working well and we are very satisfied, yet they have been working for years with the same ideas and philosophy, so it’s harder to come here than to other grounds.

“We are happy with the way we are playing but not with the number of points we have, while it’s true that we have had two very tough away games to start the season with.

“We had 30 bad minutes against Depor and shouldn’t have let the points escape, but against Barca we hardly gave them any chances and that is very pleasing,” he added.
