Michel sings Granada’s praises

Sevilla boss Michel has praised opponents Granada ahead of today’s Andalusian derby at Los Carmenes.

Los Rojiblancos make the trip to their near neighbours having disposed of Getafe 2-1 in the opening La Liga fixture last week, yet Michel believes it will be far from easy against Juan Antonio Anquela’s outfit.

“We are preparing for what will be a very intense game.

“Granada are particularly good down the flanks and like to play at their home ground, where the fans are always behind them and never let you settle for one moment,”

“They will be in a comfortable position at the end of the season and will achieve top-flight safety easily,” he told a Press conference.

Michel also spoke about the selection of summer signing from Valencia, Hedwiges Maduro, who is in the squad having being diagnosed with heart problems during pre-season, although tests later confirmed they were not career-threatening.

“We had to stop him [playing] because we had certain suspicions and were concerned about his situation, but now we are looking at things differently,” he explained.
