Malaga and Mallorca played out a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s late kick-off in Week 2 of the Primera Division.
With six changes to their starting line-up and a defensively organised Mallorca in front of them, Manuel Pellegrini’s team struggled to break through.
The visitors threatened to upset proceedings as Tomer Hemed netted in the second half on the break. However, the Anchovies earned their point through substitute Juanmi’s well-taken effort.
The home side were reduced to 10 men approaching 90 minutes, as Eliseu fell under the attention of Tomas Pina in the Mallorca penalty box, but in his frustration at not being awarded a penalty, hit out across the chest of his opponent.
