Nino: Barca always dangerous

Osasuna’s Nino is fully aware of the task that faces him and his teammates this weekend, as Barcelona rise as Week 2 opponents.

Los Rojillos actually defeated La Blaugrana last season at home, in ice-cold conditions, but 32-year-old Nino is still realistic of the undertaking required this weekend.

“The key to beating Barcelona is to harness on to their mistakes, even if those will be minimal,” he enthused to the media today.

“The only thing that has changed for them is the Coach, otherwise they are pretty much the same – the same game, the same possession, the same players and the same hunger.

“It’s more of the same. We know how difficult it is and we will really have to try on Sunday to win the game. You have to be 100 per cent or more to win and for them to also be not as bright as they normally are.”

The forward dismissed the notion that Thursday’s Super Cup first leg clash with Real Madrid will have taken something out of the opponents.

“They are always focused on the game they next have and they are used to playing two games a week. They always want to win and we know it will be very difficult.

“Of the past three or four years, I’ve not worked out the best time to face Barca. Maybe last year when we had the ice on the field, that was the best time.

“Barcelona are always dangerous.”
