Former Real Madrid player Guti has thanked Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes for his amazing Supercopa de Espana gaffe.
Valdes’ error five minutes from time allowed Angel Di Maria to score Los Blancos’ second goal to make the score 3-2 and Guti – real name Jose Maria Gutierrez – was quick to offer thanks to the Barca man via Twitter.
“Thank you Valdes,” commented Guti, who usually pronounces on Madrid’s performances via the social network
He also gave his verdict on the tie just minutes after the final whistle.
“A good match and a great result for Madrid, although we would like to have won. Valdes has given us life for the return leg,” he posted.
Guti appeared in more than 500 official games for Real between 1994 and 2010 and helped the club to 15 trophies, most notably three UEFA Champions Leagues and five La Liga title.
