Trashorras wants more from Rayo

Rayo Vallecano midfielder Roberto Trashorras has called for his side to 'keep on improving' after his winner against Granada on Monday.

The 31-year-old struck a 94th minute free-kick to win the game 1-0 for the Franjirrojos, but has since condemned his team's languid performance.

“The three points are important because they give us confidence to continue improving,” Trashorras told AS in midweek.

“We have to learn to be confident with the ball. We tried to play, but in the second half we made it very difficult for ourselves.

“We faced a very difficult team. Both teams were clearly tired towards the end of the game. We knew that set pieces could decide everything, and so it proved.”

The former Celta Vigo man then went on to explain how high temperatures had affected the game.

“It was difficult because of the heat. The conditions did not help, you could tell that a lot of the players were finding it hard. But the circumstances were the same for both teams.”
