Real Madrid are currently sizing up the possibility of signing Gary Medel from Sevilla, according to Chilean newspaper La Nacion.
The 25-year-old impressed last season with his combative performances for the Andalucian club, and Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho is said to be looking for another defensive-minded midfielder with Nuri Sahin expected to depart on loan.
Medel has attracted plenty of suitors across Europe, with the La Liga champions anticipated to have to do battle with Napoli for the signature of the former Boca Juniors man.
The Chile international's contract expires in 2015, with the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan club believed only interested in selling for a fee over €10m.
