Arsenal pursue Jesus Navas

Arsenal are in the process of making a €15m bid for Sevilla's attacking winger Jesus Navas, according to AS.

The Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly long been an admirer of the 26-year-old winger, and is thought to want to add strength in attack after the departure of Robin Van Persie to Manchester United last week.

The north London club have already made several forays into the transfer market this summer with the captures of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, as well as Santi Cazorla from Malaga. It is Cazorla who has apparently recommended the signing of Navas to his new manager.

Navas, who has made nearly 250 League appearances for Los Rojiblancos, has a contract that runs until 2015 and has a €35m release clause attached.

His southern owners have also insisted this summer that no offers have been made or interest registered.

It would be the first experience abroad for Navas, who has had problems with home-sickness in the past.
