Getafe to try for Madrid striker

Getafe are understood to be ready to make a fresh attempt to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to AS.

El Geta President Angel Torres has made it known in the past he would like the rising star at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, yet Madrid are adamant the 19-year-old will not be going through the exit door at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Morata had a spell with Getafe as a youngster before signing for Real Madrid’s C team in 2008 and Perez is hoping to bring him back after being frustrated in his attempts to prise Alvaro Vazquez away from Espanyol.

Vazquez is believed to have met with his agent in the past few days and was advised that a move to Getafe was not in his best interests.

Several clubs involved in European competition this season are expected to make him an offer and his representative has advised him to hang on to see what materialises.
