Spurs push up Modric price

Tottenham are reportedly so intent on raising Real Madrid target Luka Modric’s valuation that they have offered him to Chelsea.

AS are reporting that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has spoken with Chelsea cohort Roman Abramovich and offered the Croat to their London rivals for a fee of €40m.

This follows reports from last week that Real were on the verge of agreeing a €32m initial fee for the midfielder, followed up with a further €6m due in add-on clauses.

However, it is now believed that Levy is keen on raising that offer, hence his invitation to Chelsea to re-enter bidding for a player they had an offer turned down on a year ago.

Earlier today, reports in England suggested that the Blues were re-entering into negotiations for the 26-year-old.
