According to Mundo Deportivo, Juventus have upped their offer for Fernando Llorente to €18m.
The Italians are understood to have had an initial bid of €16m rejected by the Basques, although both proposals fall way short of the €36m rescission clause in the player’s contract that Bilbao are demanding.
Llorente has turned down the offer of a new contract at San Mames and is widely expected to leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
As a result, Los Leones boss Marcelo Bielsa has left him out of the La Liga opener against Real Betis on Sunday, along with want away teammate Javi Martinez, after the pair were insulted by supporters at training this week.
Meanwhile, a report in Bild insists that Martinez will sign for Bayern Munich later this week for a fee of €40m.
It follows a meeting on Friday between the player’s representatives, including his brother Alvaro, and Bayern officials Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Karl Hopfner, at which it was agreed the Spanish international would pen a five-year deal.
