Madrid gag Mourinho spokesman

Jose Mourinho’s spokesman Eladio Parames has closed his Twitter account amid reports he has been gagged by Real Madrid.

A story in Sport says Parames posted his final tweet on Monday with the words ´new season, new strategies` before the account disappeared seconds later.

Parames has caused some controversy with previous remarks on the social network, where he has insulted referees, journalists, Barcelona players, coaches and even a Real Madrid player.

However, Madrid President Florentino Perez is understood to be unhappy with the way his club has been portrayed over the last two years, believing Los Blancos have lost popularity not only in Spain but around the world and also made new enemies, but Parames’ latest complaints against the pro-Madrid newspapers and reporters in the Spanish capital is believed to have been the final straw.

Consequently, Perez has ordered Mourinho to put an end to Parames’ constant outbursts, although the Portuguese disassociated himself from the account towards the end of last season.

Parames will remain an employee of the club but is now expected to avoid the limelight to prevent any damage to both Mourinho’s and the club’s image.
