Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has refused to rule out a possible move to Brazil in the future.
In an interview with Lance, Valdes says he will not close the door on playing in the Brazilian League one day despite him having spent his entire career with La Blaugrana.
“As players we like to play at a world level, as does Brazil, and they have very passionate fans, which is nice to see from the pitch,” enthused Valdes.
“I would not rule out the possibility of playing there in the future and it is something I would have to talk about with my wife.
“I have a Brazilian sponsor, the sports goods manufacturer Penalty, and that would make it easier. Who knows? It would be very nice.”
On the subject of Pep Guardiola’s departure from the Camp Nou at the end of last season, Valdes admitted that the 41-year-old’s charisma and experience may one day allow him to return – possibly as President.
“It is difficult to talk about Pep as President because he has a life as a Coach and can still have a future with another club, so we will have to wait and see, but the way he works makes it an option.
“Besides, he is so loved by the fans in Barcelona that it would be a fantasy for them.”
The Barca shot-stopper also commented on Guardiola’s replacement Tito Vilanova, who he claims is very similar to the former boss.
“With Tito we are going to work in exactly the same way because he has similar ways of thinking to Guardiola.
“They were always very close, with great harmony. Tito has everything to succeed,” he added.
