Caparros hails Mallorca squad

Real Mallorca boss Joaquin Caparros is so happy with the club’s new signings he says he now has the 'best squad' in La Liga.

The Islanders have brought in Javier Arizmendi, Antonio Lopez, Ruben Mino and Javi Marquez over the summer and Caparros feels he now has a team that can compete with anybody in the top flight.

“I have the best squad in La Liga although the list of reinforcements is not closed, but I am very happy with what we have because with them we can make teams suffer, just like Real Madrid and Barcelona,” he stated in his first Press conference after the holidays.

“The players we have signed will bring experience and are eager to link up with a squad that is already competitive.”

Regarding defender Ivan Ramis, who declared this week he would like a move to the Premier League, the Mallorca Coach said he would only leave if a club comes up with the right amount of money.

“I am not planning on Ramis leaving, at least until someone comes up with what we feel he is worth, and I know the player is delighted to have started pre-season training like the captain that he is.”

According to The Sun, both Sunderland and Aston Villa are keen to take the 27-year-old to England and Mallorca Vice-President and director of football Lorenzo Serra Ferrer has admitted there has been an offer for him, although he did not specify from which club.
