Barcelona are facing more time without star forward Lamine Yamal, after a second groin injury was confirmed. The 18-year-old returned to action last Sunday against Real Sociedad, and played 90 minutes against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, but has now been ruled out with a recurrence of his groin injury again.
Manager Hansi Flick had criticised Spain counterpart Luis de la Fuente for his handling of the injury, claiming that La Roja did not take sufficient care of Lamine Yamal. However it appears Barcelona have brought him back too early too.
Lamine Yamal suffers recurrence of groin injury

Barcelona have now announced that Lamine Yamal’s pain in his groin area reappeared, and that he has now been ruled out for a further two to three weeks. It will see him miss out against Sevilla this weekend, and also puts his position against Real Madrid in El Clasico in doubt.

The prescribed time out could see him back in time to face Girona after the international break. However if it is towards the longer end of the three weeks, then Lamine Yamal would be ruled out their home clashes with Girona and Olympiakos after the international break. Three weeks of recovery would see him back on the Friday before El Clasico, with Barcelona facing Real Madrid just 48 hours later, at which point Lamine Yamal would have had just 120 minutes of football in the last seven weeks.

Row of words between Flick and de la Fuente
Following Flick’s criticism of Spain’s handling of his injury, Lamine Yamal was recalled for Spain duty on Friday. De la Fuente was also asked about the German’s words, and hit back at the lack of understanding shown by Flick. He also denied taking any risks with teenage star. Neither will be pleased with the latest development in the saga though.

Why don’t you guys call this site Football Madrid? Be honest. 95 percent of the articles on this site are critical of Barcelona and positive for Madrid. I’ve said this before. But, got guys come across as bigoted against Catalans.
You guys I mean.
Always a delight to see a crybaby in agony. Keep it up 😆
It’s just Barlow. He’s a Madrid fangirl. Barca lives in his head rent-free.
How did you enjoy 4-1? I’m sure it added to your apparent misery.
Lamine should just fake injury for every unnecessary callup. De la Fuente talks a big game about caring for the NT players, but his actions speak differently.
Now he’s calling up Marc Bernal, who’s only just back on the pitch after a year out due to cruciate ligament surgery.
The RFEF is either in on this “calling up injured Barca players” or they’re negligent. Neither is acceptable.
Man you should shut up. You add nothing of value to conversations. Get a job you useIess Ioser.
