Barcelona look as if they are on the verge of announcing Dani Olmo as their first signing of the summer, after the 26-year-old traveled to the Catalan capital on Tuesday night to complete a move. Save for a surprise, the deal will be made official imminently.
The Blaugrana reached an agreement with RB Leipzig on Tuesday for Olmo, with the Spain star expected to cost them €55m plus €7m in variables. Jijantes have got their hands on the agenda for Olmo’s first day as a Barcelona player, stating that he will be presented on Monday.

Proceedings will begin at the training facilities when he does the photo signing with President Joan Laporta, and then does another photo shoot out on the training ground. At around 12:15 CEST, he will speak for the first time as a Barcelona player since leaving as a 15-year-old a decade earlier. The same sources now say that the original Friday schedule has been cancelled, and it will now be Monday before Barcelona’s final preseason friendly that the presentation takes place.

Olmo looks like being Barcelona’s star recruit this summer, although multiple sources say they are still trying to sign Nico Williams. There will be stiff competition for places, and Olmo’s arrival likely means that three of Raphinha, Pedri, Fermin Lopez or Ilkay Gundogan will start matches on the bench next season. He excelled in behind the striker for Spain, but operated from wide often last season for Leipzig, on the right or the left.
