For years, a pact existed between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid that meant neither club could poach players from their rivals’ youth academies. That agreement no longer applies, and it has led to extreme tension of late. The latest chapter of this feud is just kicking off now.
As reported by Relevo, Real Madrid are trying to sign Yeremaiah Ramos, one of Atleti’s brightest talents from their 2009 generation. Last season, he scored 33 goals to win the Pichichi at his level – he finished nine goals clear of Enzo Alves, son of Los Blancos icon, Marcelo.

Real Madrid expect Ramos to join them for the start of next season. Given that he is only 15 years of age, Atleti would not be entitled to any compensation fee, as he is unable to sign a professional contract until he turns 16.
Atletico Madrid’s loss is to the gain of Real Madrid, it seems. It will be interesting to see how Ramos’ career develops in La Fabrica.
