Real Madrid statistic shows Champions League final struggles

Real Madrid are facing a second half battle in their UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.

Los Blancos are pushing to secure their 15th European Cup/Champions League title at Wembley Stadium against their Bundesliga opponents.

However, despite being widely tipped as pre-game favourites, Carlo Ancelotti’s team have struggled to get going in London.

Dortmund duo Karim Adeyemi and Niclas Fullkrug have both missed key first half chances as Edin Terzic’s team have played the underdog card perfectly so far.

Alongside some nervy moments in defence for Real Madrid, they have offered nothing in attack, with zero shots on target in the first 45 minutes.

Data from the opening half at Wembley backs up the point of their struggles with an xG of 0.09 before the break.

Ancelotti will rally his troops at the break and the experience in his squad will mean there is no need to panic as the contest restarts.
