Barcelona in talks to sign highly-rated South American youngster

Because of their ongoing financial problems, Barcelona have upped their focus on youth recruitment as a way of getting out of the situation. South America has been a happy hunting ground for the Catalan giants in recent years, and it continues to be so with their latest venture.

Sport have cited reports from Ecuador that state Barcelona are currently in talks with a delegation from Barcelona Sporting Club de Guayaquil over the signing of 17-year-old striker Allen Obando.

The group from Barcelona SC have been in the Catalan capital to hold talks with their namesakes to organise the deal. At this stage, it is said to be well on track, with hopes that the operation can be wrapped up as soon as possible.

Obando is described as a tall and lanky striker, who already has experience of being part of Barcelona SC’s first team, despite his youthfulness.

Obando has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain in recent months, but Barcelona are firmly in the race to secure his signature. All parties involved are hoping for a swift and seamless resolution in the coming weeks.
