Radio silence from Chelsea beginning to concern Atletico Madrid

It is thought that Atletico Madrid are open to selling Joao Felix this summer, but his chief suitor is seemingly not as keen as they were a few months ago.

Felix joined Chelsea on a six-month loan for €13m, making a good initial impression at Stamford Bridge. However with the team struggling and Felix’s impact waning, some are starting to question whether they will make a move for him during the summer.

Relevo say that Chelsea still want Felix, but there has been no contact with Atletico in the past month regarding a potential move. Felix has just two goals and zero assists in over 800 minutes of football so far, underperforming his xG, which lies over 3.

The sticking point was always likely to be price, with Atleti hoping to recover their investment, €127m, or at least get close to it. While Chelsea have been on a spending spree in the last two windows, it remains to be sen whether they will get close to that figure. The Madrid outlet point out that at least €80m will be required to extract him from the Metropolitano permanently.

While clearly enormously talented, his failure to perform as expected in a second major club will have raised doubts about both his level and his price tag.
