Bayern Munich have emerged as a contender for Jules Kounde’s signature according to Diario Sport. The Frenchman seems destined to leave Sevilla this close-season but until now it appeared that he’d be bound for either Barcelona or Chelsea.
There seems to be a love triangle developing between the three interested clubs. Both Bayern and Chelsea are also interested in Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt – whoever fails in their bid for the Dutchman will in turn push with all their might for Kounde.
Kounde is Barcelona’s first-choice centre-back – Xavi Hernandez is determined to land his signature. But Sevilla’s valuation of him is proving a problem. They want €65m for the 23-year-old while Barcelona are only willing to go as high as €45m.
Kounde’s first-choice is Barcelona but he’s not going to drag his heels and wait should they fail to reach an agreement with Sevilla. He’ll speak with Bayern and Chelsea.
