Real Madrid and Manchester City’s predicted lineups ahead of Champions League date

Real Madrid face Manchester City this evening.

And it’s as big a game as they come – the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu.

City won the first leg 4-3 at the Etihad Stadium last Tuesday but Madrid have made a habit of staging remarkable European comebacks this season. And the Bernabeu is a tough place to go.

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to set Los Blancos up in a 4-3-3.

Thibaut Courtois will start in goal behind a back four of Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Nacho and Ferland Mendy.

Casemiro will anchor the midfield with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos either side of him. Karim Benzema will lead the line flanked by Fede Valverde and Vinicius Junior.

Pep Guardiola is expected to set The Citizens up in a 4-3-3.

Ederson will start in goal behind a back four of Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Rodri will anchor the midfield with Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne either side of him. Gabriel Jesus will lead the line flanked by Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden.

It’s set to be a stone-cold classic between two of Europe’s best.
