Gerard Pique returns to Barcelona training but still a doubt for Eintracht Frankfurt

Barcelona have been handed a boost ahead of their Europa League second leg with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Germans proved they would be anything but pushovers in the first leg, making the Catalans uncomfortable throughout. In the end, Xavi Hernandez’s side had to come from behind in order to secure a 1-1 draw.

Gerard Pique also went off in that match, signalling discomfort and was left out of Barcelona’s win against Levante on Sunday night. The veteran returned to training today though and could be present on for the return leg.

It wasn’t all good news though. According to Sport, Pique was seen grimacing on the pitch and didn’t look entirely comfortable during the session.

There were some new faces in the training session aside from Pique though. Forward Memphis Depay missed both the Levante and the Eintracht first leg with a knock and he returned to the pitch today, as did Sergino Dest. The full-back has been absent since mid-March, after suffering a hamstring problem against Galatasaray.
