It’s easier to make note of the footballers who haven’t suffered injury at Atletico Madrid this season than to make note of the ones who have according to a report by Marca.
Both Geoffrey Kondogbia and Stefan Savic were ruled out for Atletico’s trip to Real Betis yesterday and it’s unknown whether they’ll be back in time for Atletico’s date with Cadiz.
Atletico have suffered 35 injuries this season with up to 19 players at some point being out of action. Both Kondogbia and Savic, alongside Marcos Llorente, are the players who’ve suffered the most issues throughout this campaign.
Missing so many players has been an issue for Atletico from a sporting perspective but they’re not alone. Barcelona and Real Madrid have suffered 38 injuries each throughout the season.
Atletico, despite their status as defending champions, are currently outside the Champions League places although they’re level on points with fourth-placed Barcelona with a game more played. They’re currently 15 points off first-placed Real Madrid.
