There may yet be hope for Ousmane Dembélé and his Barcelona career.
It has been a rather dramatic week or so for the winger, who had been in negotiations over a new contract over recent weeks.
Barca have been making proposals for more than a month with their French winger out of contract in the summer.
But last week, it became clear that the latest proposal had been rejecting after Barca had waited patiently for an answer.
Following the emergence of that news, Barca boss Xavi Hernandez made it clear that if Dembélé doesn’t renew, he will be sold during this window so that the Blaugrana can recover at least some of the more than €100million they paid for the winger in 2017.
Club chiefs have echoed the same sentiment, and Dembélé has since been left of Barca’s latest matchday squad.
The winger has also stayed away from training with illness, though, that could, of course, be a cover given the situation.
In the meantime, it seems Dembélé may yet have a hope of sticking around, if indeed he wants it.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Dembélé’s agent Moussa Sissoko has arrived in Barcelona this afternoon ahead of one final meeting with Barca’s chiefs.
Both parties will see if an agreement can be reached one more time ahead of deciding on the next best course of action.
A pivotal meeting awaits.
When Dembélé is healthy, he is one of the best players on the team. I don’t understand the overtones on Xavi who seems determined to get rid of him. I wonder what is the true, underlying reason, from Xavi’s point of view? With such a large investment in Ousmane, and his stated desire to remain with the team, it doesn’t seem to make sense to take such a financial hit and lose him for nothing this Summer.
It’s because the money he’s demanding is more than Mbappe will be getting in Real Madrid.
Guy see this matter is too long to tell…Dembele knows that Barcelona are in financial crisis and he and his agent are still demanding that kind of amount..what do you expect Xavi and co to do?
what’s there is that if Dembele truly 🤔 loves barca or his agent truly love barca they have to do something!🤔 😉and what’s that? they have to reduce there demand so that other players can come in..though Dembele demand isn’t the reason we haven’t bring any players in..but I know soon it will happen.

The fact here is that Ousman Dembele didn’t love his team Barcelona. Why ? If ousman Dembele truly loves his team he will not ask for such an demand while he knows that the team is in a downfall of financial. I can say Dembele loves money than his clubs,anyway I give thanks to Xavi for giving him greenlight to leave the club if he can’t reduce his amount.
