Barcelona hit with contract refusal and not from Ousmane Dembélé

Barcelona have been handed another setback in their contract negotiations.

The Blaugrana have failed – at least so far – to convince Ousmane Dembélé to stay, and they have now been met with another refusal.

Barca have had some contract success, with the likes of Pedri and Ansu Fati signing new deals.

And they were hoping to continue along a similar line with defender Ronald Araujo, a player they want to play at the heart of defence for years to come.

Araujo is out of contract in 2023, and he has already received a contract offer from Barca, one that has been rejected.

According to Sport, the centre-back and his representative were not impressed by the initial offer.

Thankfully for Barca, it’s believed the negotiations will continue and that the relationship between Araujo’s agent and the Blaugrana is still said to be a good one.

Talks will continue over the coming weeks, and there should be agreement at some point.
