The Barcelona player set to be dropped for El Clasico

This week’s Barcelona news is increasingly focused on the upcoming El Clasico clash against Real Madrid.

In what is sure to be a significant game in the title race in La Liga, there will be many questions posed over how both sides will line-up.

A report in Marca highlights how one Blaugrana star is likely to be dropped for the encounter.

It highlights how Frenkie De Jong commented on his desire to play a midfield role, which would see him partner Pedri and Sergio Busquets in a midfield trio – as the Catalan giants look to match Madrid’s midfield trio.

Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo would return in the centre of defence alongside Clement Lenglet, with Jordi Alba and Sergino Dest in the wide wing-back roles.

With Lionel Messi indispensable and Ousmane Dembele in fine form and with his speed necessary for the attacks, that would mean Antoine Griezmann would be the fall player.

The Frenchman has found the net just twice in his last 13 appearances for the club and has struggled for form in front of goal this season but may be the player to miss out in what is closer to a 3-5-2 formation.

    1. I don’t like the idea of playing an unfit Pique in this most important game of the season, I preferred 4-3-3 formation, but if they’re to line up 3-5-2 then Mingueza should play instead of Gerard

  1. pls my say is that this line up is okey but Griezman should take Busquet’s place in midfield and in this enticing formation that have Araujo Pique lenglet…..Dest Griezman De jong pedri Alba…..King Messi n’ Electric Dembele, thanks.

  2. Griezman is a very useless player and a waste of money. His inclusion in the team is limiting the chances of better players. Even pique injury has been a blessing in disguise for us Mingueza is a better player than pique, forget the experience of pique, when he played PSG first leg we all saw what happened. For the team to move forward sell pique, griezman, busquet. And bench Ter stegen.

    1. pls.. real fans.. speak for your team rather than disguising as a barca fan and hating on barca, u do have other jobs than this which are important for you

  3. The best formation for Barcelona in every game is 4-3-3, fundamentally for Real Madrid, fitness should be a priority on whom to play, Our Coach is never making full use of Ruig, very painful.

  4. Griezman is a good guy, i like him too. But for the tactics, he could be dropped. This ‘Classico is a must win. The 3-5-2 formation is a good one.

    Barca winning 4-1

  5. The management I believe know better, it simply a matter of understanding. Some formations like the 3-5-2 requires sacrificing one attacker from the front three of the 4-3-3 formation. Greizman is the slowest and the most unconvincing of the front three so it has to be him. Piques inclusion is what I’m not so sure of. But de jong should definitely play in the misfield. Holla Barca
