Ansu Fati faces third knee operation as Barcelona fear injury complications for teenage star

The injury situation at Ansu Fati is much worse than originally feared with the Barcelona teen having undergone a second knee operation a fortnight ago but now requires a third, according to reports.

A report in Goal.com follows up on TV3 reports than an unreported second surgery on his knee two weeks ago but he has reacted negatively to that development and now requires a third.

He had originally undergone knee surgery at 8 November which was due to sideline him for an estimated four months, but his recovery has not gone as plan.

It follows on from Barcelona news earlier in the day in Diario Sport that the teenage has felt fresh pains in his knee with scans showing a build-up in fluid.

The teenager has netted five goals in 10 appearances for the Blaugrana this campaign alongside one strike in four caps for the Spanish national team.

Fati is now one of the established attacking players at the club along with Lionel Messi and is aiming to establish himself ahead of teammates Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Francisco Trincao.
