Barcelona meeting on new striker plan

Barcelona are holding a key meeting on Thursday to decide which striker to sign this month, report El Mundo Deportivo.

The club have submitted their application to La Liga to sign a new forward after Ousmane Dembele was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with a thigh injury.

It is said that Coach Quique Setien will meet with sporting director Eric Abidal, club CEO Oscar Grau and key transfer strategist Ramon Planes.

The report adds that three names are on the table: Getafe striker Angel Rodriguez, Loren Moron of Real Betis and Alaves frontman Lucas Perez, with the option of Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose now discarded.

Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Ansu Fati are the only attackers available in the first-team squad for Barcelona at the moment following the late January exits of Carles Perez and Abel Ruiz.

All three current attacking options are said to be within the club’s budget, with Angel of Getafe currently appearing to be the most likely.
