Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde will allow his star names extra days off as part of the La Liga winter break.
The first team will all be away during the fortnight break from league action, following this weekend’s clash with Alaves.
According to reports in Marca, Valverde is also open to giving his South American players additional time off due to travel requirements.
Barcelona’s European based players are due to return to training on December 29, with the non-EU players, including Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, back in action on January 2.
This potentially places into doubt either of them playing in the Catalan derby away at Espanyol on January 4.
However they are not expected to miss the trip to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup, with their semi final clash against Atletico Madrid on January 9.
Midfielder Arthur Melo will also be allowed to return to Brazil next week, despite missing over a month of action through injury, with Valverde confident he is nearing the end of his rehabilitation period.
