LaLigaTV to be broadcast on Sky in UK

The official TV station of La Liga will be available on British network Sky as a standalone channel from January 2020.

Since September, the channel has been shown in the UK and Ireland via broadcaster Premier Sports and will now be available on Sky for a set price of £5.99 per month, with a two-week free trial available.

The channel will also be available in a deal worth £11.99 per month when purchased in a bundle alongside Premier Sports 1 and Premier Sports 2 HD channels – which also shows Italian top-flight football.

Melcior SolerAudiovisual Director at LaLiga has said: “We’re proud to launch LaLigaTV, our own dedicated linear channel in the United Kingdom, together with our broadcast partner Premier Sports.

“Fans in the UK will soon see why LaLigaTV provides viewers such tremendous value, offering all of LaLiga Santander, all in one place.

“This includes every available live match, plus expert analysis and world-class programming, with daily studio shows, archive footage, features and documentaries on Spanish football, and much, much more.”

Sky Sports had been the long-term home of Spanish football in the UK but lost the rights last summer, when Eleven Sports signed a three-year contract.

However, the subscription-based online service failed to gain enough members by December 2018, meaning that the rights were auctioned once more this season – with Premier Sports buying the rights.
