Barcelona, Juventus chase France teen Lenny Lacroix

Barcelona and Juventus are both interested in signing 16-year-old defender Lenny Lacroix from Metz, according to reports.

Calciomercato say that the defender has already been dubbed as the ‘new Matthijs de Ligt’, who signed for Juve from Ajax this summer in a €75m deal, with Barca losing out on the deal.

Lacroix has been playing with the Under-17 team of Metz, who are already said to have received approaches from both champions of Italy and Spain regarding a possible future move.

The teenager has yet to sign a professional contract and could move this summer should the French club receive an offer they deem suitable.

Lacroix is described as a physically powerful player, excellent in marking opponents and particularly strong on one-on-one situations.

He was the best player of the Under-16 tournament of Val-de-Marne last year, the report adds, and is said to have a big future ahead of him.
