Antoine Griezmann admits to Barcelona struggles

Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann has admitted he has found it tough to adjust to life at the La Liga champions.

Griezmann joined La Blaugrana in a controversial €120M move from rivals Atletico Madrid ahead of the 2019-20 season, but the French international has not been able to maintain a consistent level of form.

He has netted just four goals in all competitions for Ernesto Valverde's side so far this season, and he has revealed that he is still adapting at the Camp Nou.

"I am still learning a lot, and I knew that coming to Barcelona would be difficult," he told reporters from Marca following France's 2-1 Euro 2020 qualifier win over Moldova.

"If I play centrally, then I feel more balanced."

"I have played up front in that position for many years, and now I must adapt."

French boss Didier Deschamps echoed Griezmann's comments about adjusting to a new position, but described his start to life with the Catalan side as 'far from a disaster'.

Griezmann's issues in front of goal did continue with Les Bleus however, as he stretched his goal less streak with the national side to seven games, as France secured their place at Euro 2020 through Olivier Giroud's late penalty.
