Barcelona reservations on Erling Haaland price tag

Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Haaland

Barcelona are among the clubs keen on Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland but are put off by his €100m price tag, say ESPN FC.

Haaland has been in remarkable goalscoring form this season, scoring 26 goals in 18 official matches this season – including a hat-trick against Genk in the Champions League, when he played for just 70 minutes.

Indeed, the Norway international has netted six hat-tricks since May and he has scored 35 goals in his last 21 competitive appearances for club and country.

The 19-year-old was coached by fellow Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde and a recent report in Diario AS claimed that if the manager is still in place at Old Trafford come next summer, the striker will be a primary target or Manchester United, while the same report also spoke of Real Madrid's interest.

Italian agent Mino Raiola will have a significant role in the player’s future but the report outlines how he would be a continuation of Madrid’s recent signing strategy.

Signing young players with a long-term future would follow the path of Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Junior, Martin Odegaard, Takefusa Kubo and many others for Madrid.
