Saul Niguez: Goals mean nothing if we do not win

Saul Niguez had no time for individual praise after Spain were held to a 1-1 draw in Norway.

La Roja's Euro 2020 qualification was delayed by the result, and they are now aiming for a positive result against Sweden next week to seal a spot in the tournament next summer.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder netted his first international goal in over 12 months to put Spain in front just after half time, but they were unable to hold on for all three points.

"We need to learn lessons from tonight.

"This game will help us to improve in certain areas.

"I am very happy to score, but if you don't win, it does not matter.

"We are left with a bittersweet feeling, particularly after we improved in the second half."

Niguez also hailed the role of Sergio Ramos, who collected his record breaking 168th cap in Oslo,

Manager Robert Moreno is expected to make changes to the starting line up for the trip to Solna, with Dani Carvajal, Thiago Alcantara and Santi Cazorla potentially coming in to start for the 2010 World Cup winners.
