Ousmane Dembele refuses to discuss Sevilla red card

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has reportedly declined to talk about his sending off against Sevilla.

The French international was dismissed in the closing minutes of the 4-0 Camp Nou, after allegedly criticising referee Antonio Lahoz's earlier decision to send off team mate Ronald Araujo.

After initially appearing to be a second yellow card for the former Broussia Dortmund man, Lahoz confirmed that it was a straight red card, meaning his will miss the EL Clasico tie with Real Madrid if his three game ban is upheld.

According to reports in Diario AS, the 22-year old has refused to discuss his first ever red card with manager Ernesto Valverde or his team mates.

Valverde confirmed after the game that he doubted Dembele had seriously insulted the referee, due to his low level of spoken Spanish, adding that calling him 'very bad' did not warrant a sending off.

Barcelona will appeal the decision as they look to have Dembele available for the visit of Zinedine Zidane's league leaders to the Camp Nou on October 26th.
