Antoine Griezmann hails FC Barcelona team spirit following Real Betis win

FC Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann praised his team mates following their 5-2 win over Real Betis.

The former Atletico Madrid star enjoyed a dream home debut, netting two goals on his first appearance at the Camp Nou following his July move to Catalonia.

Ernesto Valverde's side  were without Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez all missing through injury, however Griezmann and Carles Perez performed well as an attacking unit – and Griezmann was delighted with how his team mates performed.

"After a defeat like the one at Athletic Bilbao on the opening day, we had to work hard this week.

"We knew there would be comments made after that loss, and we reacted.

"When a team are missing important players, then others must step up and they did."

Goals from Perez, Jordi Alba and Arturo Vidal secured the tree points, but it was Griezmann's second goal caught the eye – and he wryly credited Messi behind the curling 20 yard strike.

"I see Messi scoring goals like that in training and of course, I try to copy him."

FC Barcelona head to newly promoted Osasuna next weekend, with Messi in line for his first FC Barcelona appearance of the season.
