Valderrama: James Rodriguez must leave Real Madrid

Former Colombia international Carlos Valderrama has advised James Rodriguez to leave Real Madrid: “The Coach does not want him.”

James has returned to Los Blancos after two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich while Atletico Madrid and Napoli have both been heavily linked to a move.

However, despite the club’s inability to sell the playmaker thus far, Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has made it clear he has not plans for the former Porto and Monaco star in his side.

“James? Let him go to another team because the Coach does not want him,” Valderrama said, as cited by Marca.

“If he stays at Real Madrid he won't play; he starts from there. That's how things are…when James arrived, the fans had a party, the president made a party, but the Coach does not want him now.

“The concern is that he will not play, if he stays at Real Madrid he will not play. Let him go on to better things, the one who decides on the line-up is the Coach.

“With the quality he has he can play anywhere in the world.”
