Antoine Griezmann: I don’t care what position I’m in

Antoine Griezmann insists he does not mind which position he plays as long as he is playing regularly for Barcelona.

The French forward has joined in a €120m transfer from Atletico Madrid but there has been speculation over how the club will line up in an attacking sense next season.

The 28-year-old started in the pre-season defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday but it is yet to be seen how he will fit in when Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez – who both missed the game – return to action.

“I don't care about the position as long as I’m on the pitch,” Griezmann said, as cited by Marca after the match.

“I am eager to play more and continue learning with my new teammates, I have to continue to learn and become accustomed to the play.

“We have had a few training sessions and only one game. I have not been surprised by many players because I was already following Barça matches as a football fan and I know almost every movement of each one, but I need to adapt.

“I'd rather be on the pitch and not on the bench. I try to improve, to work and to learn.”
