Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has no hard feelings to Antoine Griezmann following his controversial departure.
The French international signed for La Liga rivals FC Barcelona in a €120m deal earlier this month, however Los Rojiblancos are considering legal action over the move amid reports that a deal was agreed without the club's approval back in March.
However, the former Argentina international has no problem with his former player, and wished him well for the 2019-20 season.
"I really value what Griezmann did in his five years at the club, he told Argentinian TV Channel TyC Sports.
"I love him a lot.
"I spoke with him a lot before he left, and I am always grateful to players that have played here.
"He now goes to an extraordinary club at FC Barcelona at an important moment in his career."
Simeone also praised Griezmann's development into a world class player, following his 2014 move from Real Sociedad, after netting 94 goals in 180 game in Madrid.
"He came here for €25m, and I told him he needed to score more goals and play through the middle, rather than out wide.
"He did all of the things I asked, and as a coach, I am happy with how he performed.
"If he can maintain his form, then I think he will have a good season in 2019-20".
