FC Barcelona win the race to sign Louie Barry

FC Barcelona have beaten off competition from Paris Saint-Germain to sign highly-rated teenager Louie Barry.

Barry, 15, has reportedly rejected a new deal with current club West Bromwich Albion and will now make the move to Spain.

According to an exclusive for ESPN Sport, the attacker was spotted leaving a hotel in Barcelona, after agreeing a deal to link up with the club's famous La Masia academy for the 2019-20 season.

As per FIFA regulations, the La Liga champions will have to pay a compensation fee of around €130,000 to the English club, if they do complete the deal in the coming days.

Barry scored six goals in 14 appearances for West Brom's U18 and U23 sides during the 2018-19 season, and with his star rising rapidly the club were keen to tie him to a professional deal – which he has now rejected.

He teenager has also been capped at international youth level, appearing for both England and the Republic of Ireland at U16 level.
