Sevilla, Valencia battle for Milan’s Samu Castillejo

Sevilla and Valencia are both hopeful of landing out-of-favour Milan midfielder Samu Castillejo this summer, according to reports.

Marca cite a report in Gazzetta dello Sport which claims both of the Spanish clubs are hopeful of tempting the 24-year-old back to La Liga.

Castillejo has four years remaining on his contract at the Milanese giants and it is claimed the Rossoneri will look to recoup the €25m they paid Villarreal last summer.

The former Malaga player still needs to meet with directors to see if new Coach Marco Giampaolo wants to keep hold of the Spanish winger.

Castillejo managed just four goals and four assists in 40 competitive games for Milan but is said to be open to a return to Spanish football this campaign.

The player has previously worked with Los Che Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral at Villarreal while Sevilla made a concerted attempt to land him last summer.

Sevilla have already landed Israeli striker Moanes Dabbur in a €15m deal from RB Salzburg and central defender Diego Carlos from Nantes this summer.
