Barcelona have officially released their new kit for the 2019-20 season with Nike predicting that it is going to be a bestseller.
The top is a checkered design which is reminiscent of the Croatian national team and will be available to buy from 4 June.
The kits are completed with blue shorts and blue socks with a red line on the edge, while the Catalan flag is more prominent on the top.
The Senyera (flag) has traditionally been present on the back of the shirt but is now visible on the v-neck collar at the front of the new kit.
In the 2015-16 season, records were already broken for sales with the horizontal stripes shirt and it is anticipated that the new-look top will be similarly popular with the club’s fans.
El Mundo Deportivo have cited a quote from the well-known Catalan Antoni Gaudí, who once said that “if it has not been done before, it is the best reason to do it.”
Gerard Pique told club media: “The kit is something new and exciting for us.
“It might be different but it is totally Barcelona, and it is even better that the design represents the bond the club has with the supporters and the people who are move the city forwards.”
