Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes ‘vomiting with anxiety’ at Santos exit

Future Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes has admitted vomiting due to anxiety of the thought of having played his last game for Santos.

The 18-year-old has starred with Santos in his native Brazil but is due to join Madrid this year after the two club’s struck a €45m deal in 2018.

It had been unclear if the forward would return to club duty after international duty but an agreement has now been found where he will say goodbye to his club teammates in one final match next month.

“The agreement came out on Sunday morning after a bad night for me,” Rodrygo told Fox Sports, in quotes carried by Diario AS.

“I was throwing up and I had a very sore throat. I think it was anxiety about whether or not still be here but thank God I will be – He is great.

“My will was to stay, it was my decision, along with my sponsor and my family, I wanted to take more advantage of that time I had here.”
