Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo linked to Napoli

Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo has been linked with a move to Napoli but his agent insists he needs regular first-team football.

The 19-year-old joined the Blaugrana from Toulouse in January but has featured in just two La Liga games – against Huesca and Celta Vigo.

Reports had linked the highly-rated French teenager with a move to Napoli, but this appears unlikely unless they can guarantee him first-team football.

“We have spoken with Barcelona but no decision has been taken yet,” Bruno Satin is cited as saying by Marca.

“He wants to stay at the club but if an opportunity comes up elsewhere then he will need to play a minimum of 30 matches in a season.

“This means the Napoli option is unlikely, and it would not be fair for me to demand that from Carlo Ancelotti and their club.”

Having started his career as a midfielder, Todibo has made 10 starts for his club in Ligue 1 for Toulouse this season in the heart of defence.

However, as his future appeared to lie outside of the club he was excluded from first-team affairs and eventually joined the Camp Nou in January.
