Real Madrid will not pay €280m for PSG striker Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid are not prepared to pay the €280m asking price for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe, say reports.

A sensational report in France Football last month claimed Madrid president Florentino Perez has personally given his approval for the move and will lay the groundwork for a deal, with a view to a summer move.

El Mundo Deportivo cite a report in RMC Sport that such a report is nonsense, with the valuation out of the budget of Los Blancos.

The 20-year-old has been elevated into one of world football’s most sought-after stars following a €170m switch to the Parisians from Monaco in the summer of 2017.

The France international has his 57 goals in 84 appearances for PSG and has been heavily linked to Los Blancos across the time period since.

Madrid have been heavily linked with a summer bid for the former Monaco player, with significant investment in the squad expected during the close season.

However, it is now unlikely that such an outlay will go on the French star.
