Ousmane Dembele ruled out for Liverpool clash

Barcleona have confirmed that winger Ousmane Dembele will miss their midweek trip to Anfield, after suffering a minor tear to his hamstring in the defeat to Celta Vigo this weekend.

The French international was withdrawn after just six minutes at the Estadio Balaidos, with manager Ernesto Valverde confirming in his post match interview that he would be doubtful for their clash with the Premier League side.

However tests this morning haves revealed the extent of the injury, and he is now set to miss the next three to four weeks of the season as he begins his recovery period.

The 21-year old has seen his season hampered by injuries, and this particular setback will be frustrating as Valverde was likely to utilise the former Borussia Dortmund man against Liverpool.

The club have not put an exact date on his return to action, but given the time frame, he is unlikely to be fir in time for the Copa del Rey Final on May 26th, but could be fit in time for the Champions League final on June 1st – should they get past Liverpool.
