Atletico Madrid hope to sign SPAL striker Andrea Petagna this summer but face competition from Leicester City, reports Nuovo Ferrera.
The 23-year-old striker joined SPAL from Atalanta last summer and has been in devastating form this campaign, netting 15 goals across all competitions.
Besiktas, Eintracht Frankfurt and an unnamed Russian club are also said to be in the running, while Tottenham have also been linked to the Italian.
It follows on from reports that Atleti are prepared to sell Diego Costa this summer while Nikola Kalinic has underwhelmed this season and may also be moved on.
SPAL have an obligation to sign Petagna permanently from his current loan deal from the Bergamo-based club should they avoid relegation.
