Valverde: Now we can focus on Liverpool

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde will not be resting on his laurels after his side secured their eighth La Liga title with a 1-0 Nou Camp win against Levante. 

The Catalan side host Liverpool in the Champions League semi final on Wednesday night, and the former Athletic Bilbao manager has been planning for it for the past few weeks.

"We are happy to win, of course.

"But we will remain focused for the challenges ahead this week."

He rested Lionel Messi for the second game in a row, with Sergio Busquets and Clement Lenglet also has breathers in the past week, and he provided an update on his match winning Argentinian.

"Messi needed at least 45 minutes tonight, to be ready for Wednesday.

"It will be a big test for us and we needed to have him match ready."
